Welcome to Ashley, Churchill & Thorner
Educational Trust

The Ashley, Churchill & Thorner Educational Trust is a registered charity which was set up to assist young people around Dorchester and Crossways in Dorset with educational costs (such as books, specialist equipment, clothing and more), helping people to prepare for trade or a profession. The current Trust was formed in 1995 as the amalgamation of three former charities coming together; some of which date back and have been supporting young people in Dorchester for well over 100 years.

The Trust typically provides grants between £50 - £750 and in exceptional circumstance would consider other requests.

Applications are welcome from young people under the age of 25, whose household income and circumstances are such that they are in need of financial support. Their home or family home must be within 5 miles of Dorchester or in the Civil Parish of Crossways.

The Trustees usually meet three times a year to discuss applications – in mid-September, February and July – and application forms should be received at least three weeks before a meeting to be considered.
